I have some super Baby Washing Challenge creations to share with you today from Joanna and Laura.

I hung this taggie blanket from on the front of the exhibtion stand, just infront of our demo table, it was much admired Joanna.  The fleece is so soft, you inspired lots of customers to make their own - thank you.

I remember Sydney used to love playing with the label on her Winnie Bear, specially when she was going to sleep.

Oooooh this is sooooooo cute Joanna, really special.

This delightful little parcel is from Laura, I have to confess that I could not bring myself to unwrap it to photograph  the contents.....it looks just so perfect.  But I can tell you there is a little pair of socks inside..............ahhhhhhhh.

Thank you Joanna and Laura for your fab creations and for joining in with the challenge.

Is anybody else having problems with this solar eruption or is it just us..................we have blown up our smpt server, broadband is all over the place, computer graphics card just went errrrrr on us, facebook is telling Bev she lives in Camberley, Rachies phone will not even connect to any wi-fi's and my computer keyboard just died!!!

Wierd.................or............what!!!!

Hello wednesday - Glittered heart

clock February 8, 2012 08:55 by author Crafty Ribbons

Don't you just LOVE wednesday's? Say hello to wednesday  "hello wednesday" It's all downhill from now on to the weekend - yippee!!!

Ooooh this is very unlike me, but another card for you today.  For someone that claims she can not make cards for toffee I have made quiet a few lately.

To be honest it is about the only thing my thumb will allow me to do!  Hence why they are all so very simple.  This card is really, really, really simple.

Did you know we sold glittered heart buttons? Any colour you like? No, not really but I can tell you how easy they are to glitter.

I used one of the large pink buttons from our Hearth, Hearts, Hearts button boxes here

As I wanted to use red glitter for my heart I simply coloured the button using a red permanent marker pen (Sssssshh it was the one Rachie hides for writing the City Link bags!).  To save my fingers from getting covered in red ink, I popped it onto a wooden kebab stick, I just poked it through one of the button holes.  This held it really firmly.

Once the ink was dry I sprayed it with adhesive and covered it with red glitter, shook off the excess glitter and voila one glitter button.  Perfect for my "says it all card". If anyone would like to use my idea you can find the artwork here.

If everything has gone to plan then Tony and I should be in France and heading to Paris. Wish us luck.

Day 21 - 3 little stars

clock December 21, 2011 10:03 by author Crafty Ribbons

I made these for MY 3 little STARS.  Felt and button decorations to hang on the tree.

Star felts which I have then sewn buttons onto with white thread.  I designed the little labels on the computer and then printed them out on photo paper.  I used glossy accents to raise the Samuel and the word star, just to give it that extra meaning.  I threaded 3mm satin ribbon here through the felt star then simply attached the label.  Button boxes can be found here.  This heart is for my favorite nephew, there could only be ONE Samuel.

Not forgetting the girls.

I know I am a big softie but  - Sydney, Sam and Mollie ARE MY STARS.

Linda is a tatter, and we always meet up at Exeter westpoint in September, look what she has created for our top 5 Christmas ribbon challenge.

The snowflakes are all tiny pices of tatting,  WOW what fiddly work Linda, they are awesome.

This is a fun card Linda, very jolly. I was really unsure whether to put this ribbon around my Christmas cake or the Santa one - decisions, decisions.

Look, can you see the tree - all made from Tatting - simply beautiful Linda.  The red flower from our seed beads were made on a flower loom.  Very creative goodies Linda, thank you - See you in September!

I am sure the warehouse will be buzzing with excitement today, ummm why I do not know - well Tony and I sneaked onto the night ferry from Plymouth last night.  We decided to take an extra day off!!  Tut Tut, naughty we know BUT hey it's CHRISTMAS!!.

The warehouse is closing today and we are having a total shutdown until the 3rd January, no orders will be despatched, phones answered or emails replied to.  BUT I will still be blogging, we can not have an advent that stops on the 21st can we.

So from a wet Brittany, have a great day.

Hearts, hairslides and more....

clock June 23, 2011 05:20 by author Crafty Ribbons

Ooooooooooh I still ache. Oooh me leg, ooh me back and talk about bruises.  I wish I could blame Tony for the shelving idea, but..................yep you guessed it..................all mine!!! NO we have not rebuilt the shelving I think it will sit in the loading bay for a little bit longer!!

We have some scrummy button ideas for you today from Michelle, Tracey and Bonnie.

I was a little bit bemused when I opened Michelles envelope, I put my hand in and pulled out these..........I looked at them................I turned them over.....................looked at them again..................nope could not see any buttons on them what so ever.  Mystery!! Until I read the note...........aaaah prezzies for me and the girls.  Coasters for our crafty cuppa's, wow how wonderful thank you Michelle I went round to all the girls desks and introduced them to their new friends. Brill Michelle.

This definitely was for the button challenge, loads and loads of buttons Michelle.

I really wish you could have a feel of this heart, it is all squishy and soft.

Now Michelle was really teasing me, was this part of the challenge or had she wrapped up something else?  Was the painted button the challenge?

Oooh Michelle you were making me think!  Did you or didn't you?

I had a good old feel of the newspaper wrapped prezzie and decided there WAS something inside............ Two perfectly colour corodinated hair slides and a button ring.  Perfect Michelle.

Here is my assistant, wearing Michelles creation!

Tracey calls this a tactie card - she and Paul make these cards for visually impaired people.  I must say Tracey the first thing I wanted to do was to feel it!! It shouts "touch me, touch me".  Cool card.

We have had a few earings on this button challenge, but this is the first pair of stud earings.  How simple are they! Just think how much you would have to pay for those at a craft fair Tracey, wicked idea.

Super little buttoness here Bonnie, I adore the colours.

Perfect, just perfect Bonnie.

Cor a long post for me today, I hope you have enjoyed looking at all the wonderful crreations you can do with our button boxes.  Last showing of all the creations tomorrow - don't miss them!

Hello Wednesday - It's a wrap

clock June 22, 2011 10:06 by author Crafty Ribbons

Don't you just LOVE wednesday's? Say hello to wednesday  "hello wednesday" It's all downhill from now on to the weekend - yippee!!!

A very simple project for today, it may be simple but I think makes a perfect enhancement!

I did say it was simple!!

I knotted two pieces of ribbon together, starting from the top at the back of the vase I just wrapped the ribbon around the vase to the front. Twisted the ribbon at the front and then took the ribbons back round to the back again.

I just carried on down the vase and then tied a bow at the bottom. Simple.

Tony and I were out of the office all day yesterday, we had purchased some new ribbon racking (well new to us).  The one thing our warehouse is short of is racking, we have tons of ribbon but struggle to put it anywhwere. Anyway we bought this racking online and thought that we would go and collect it together, a nice day out.  We used our lorry with its tail lift, I had made a pile of sandwiches and a big flask and we set off at 5.30 on our little adventure expecting to be back in the warehouse about tea time.

Well................we have never worked so hard..........................every part of my body aches.......even places I didn't know I had!!!! It turned out to be 3 tonnnes that needed dismantling, and loaded onto the lorry.  I have never given up on something before but I came so close yesterday. There was no joy when the final shelf cross bar had been banged out and loaded onto the lorry.  We were both exhausted and we still had to drive home. What had started as a little adventure had turned into a nightmare.

It was a very quiet drive home, neither of us had the energy to speak and the knowledge that we had to off load when we got back was tormenting us.  As we pulled into Tin Pot Lane at about 8.30, with the thought of manhandling 3 tonnes again, I really didn't think we could do it.  The lorry HAD to be emptied, it is always in use.

As we rounded the corner to our unit, there were 3 people standing waving at us, I could have cried.  Rachie, her husband Marten and little Mollie had all come to help.  Rachie had a cup of tea waiting for us, the loading bay door open and a big space had been cleared to put the shelving in. It still took all of us 2 hours, but it was much more fun.  Mollie loved riding up and down on the tail lift and Rachie kept us topped up on teas.  Thank you guys you were amazing. What team work.

As I missed Mondays and yesterdays buttonness delights I thought I would do some today.

I love your wacky cake Vicki.

The button detail just makes it extra special.

This is really special, the effect is so unusual Vicki.

I think the tree has been stamped then enhanced with glossy accents, before the buttons and gems were added.  Am I correct Vicki?

These tower earings are wicked Laura and such fun. It is great how you have created the ombre effect.

Wow a matching bracelet, such neat stitching Laura and a button hole.  Well impressed - I got my button hole foot out for my new sewing machine at the weekend.  I looked and looked at it, naaarh and decided my project did not really require a button hole after all!!!!

I think this card is so elegant Laura, and a great idea to use wire to secure the buttons, it makes a change from stitching them.  I haven't taken a photo of the inside (sorry) but Laura has used a strip of matching ribbon to cover the wire ends. Looks stunning.

Thanks to Vicki and Laura for todays buttonness.

I can not do any more typing even my hands and fingers ache!!

Friday FREEBIE - 24

clock June 17, 2011 06:52 by author Crafty Ribbons

Great minds think alike Claire - that's what I thought too.

Who would like the chance to win three of our button boxes this week? We have two sets up for grabs!

You could pick our NEW ones. the ones we launched a few weeks back.........

or any of the original 19 we launched back in April.

Who can resist ploughing their hand into this selection...........

.................not ME!

So if you fancy being put into our Bingo bag this week, then just leave us a comment and we will do the rest on Monday. What boxes would you pick? Do let us know, we are a very nosey bunch at Crafty Ribbons!!!

Day 5 of our Button Week........ummmm.................I think I was rather over optimistic that I could show case everyones creations in 1 week!!  Yes, I could take the pictures and just put them on the blog, but that is not my style, is it.  I like to show you the finer details with close ups...........so therefore our button week is going to turn into two weeks!!  Yeah!!

Today we have the work of Jenny and Sherry, and wow have these two girls got something to show us - both very different but totally unique.

This is a first Jenny, nobody has sent me a clock before.  And it works!  Can you guess what Jenny has used to create this perfect circle, I bet you can...........

...................a CD.  Wicked Jenny, what a super piece of inspiration.

Jenny's other creation was this perfect hair band,  What scrummy colours,  how did you cut such perfect felt flowers? I know a very proud little girl that would love this, her stabilisers have been removed from her bike.......and she can do it!!  Sydney is riding her bike.

Oh Sherry I have always wanted to make something like this. Not sure I know the correct name for it, but I call it "Shabby Chic".  Your Button Queen will be well looked after Sherry.

If you thought the Button Queen was wicked, then what about Sherry's wall hanging......................

.................perfection....................

I certainly have lots of fresh inspiring material for our exhibition stands this Autumn.  Thank you Jenny and Sherry for such works of art, and a big thank you to everyone that took time out to be part of our Button Challenge.  There will be more Buttonness all next week, so pop on and leave a comment for our challengers.

Do you think it is time for me to set a NEW Challenge?  Can anyone spare a little time to come up with some ribbon and or button inspiration?  What would your ultimate Challenge be?  What would you like to have a play with?  Questions, questions, questions - sorry! Let me know your thoughts, you can always email me craftyribbons@gmail.com or put it in your comment and i will see what Crafty Ribbons can do.

Have a great weekend.

If you are unable to leave a comment due to our spam filters, please email it to craftyribbons@gmail.com and we will add it for you.  All the comments go into our "Bingo" bag and we draw a random number(s) on Monday.
Please check back to see if you have won, it is up to you to claim your prize - we do not contact you.

I was just writing this posting when a email arrived from Beryl, she said a little "thanks Ali" this morning!  She needed some small buttons to finish off a card.

She found just what she was looking for in our Button Boxes!  Perfect timing Beryl - thanks.
Super card Beryl, I do love the buttons in the flowers - just what the card needed!

As promised here are a few pics of the ring cushion Lucy made for her daughters wedding.

Lucy made this along the style of my Hello wednesday ring cushion (here) but with one large rose rather than 9 small ones.

Close up of the centre heart detail.

Look at the back, it is also beatutiful.

And your little fairy charm is wicked.

So pleased you enjoyed the wedding, your cushion is wonderful Lucy.  Your daughter is very lucky to have such a talented mum.  Thank you for sharing your creations with us, it brings such delight to us to see what our ribbons and buttons are turned into.

Who likes buttons?

Lots of yummy buttons?

We have buttons and lots and lots of them!!!

I have been so excited about these button boxes, we commissioned them weeks and weeks ago, how I have managed to keep a secret for so long is beyond me!  They finally arrived into the warehouse last week, and Bev and I had great fun unpacking them......oooooh the colours are dreamy.

There are 19 different colour themes and they all come with their own button box.  The button boxes are exclusive to Crafty Ribbons and are made from high quality gloss board with a slide on lid - just like our ribbon Selection Boxes, just smaller!!!

The white boxes have been left totally blank so that you can decorate them.  I read with joy your Friday FREEBIE comments last week about what you would spend the £20 vouchers on - many of you said buttons, buttons and more buttons!!!!!  Our button boxes are only £4.50 each or any 3 boxes for £10 - WHAT A BARGAIN! and you can find them all HERE

Join me tomorrow with our Hello wednesday to see what I have created with this Delish box of Delphinium Crush buttons.
