Crafters create

clock July 13, 2010 10:56 by author Crafty Ribbons

Louise was really happy to win last weeks Friday FREEBIE prize of the Jam Pot Ribbons.  She e-mailed us to say she was stunned to be the winner and that she had been unwell over the weekend due to the hot weather. We hope you are feeling better Louise and your ribbons should be with you tomorrow.

Louise normally buys silk ribbon from us for her miniature work, she sent me these photos, they are just stunning.

This was for a customers order for a Regency stove-pipe bonnet for a 16 inch fashion doll. The bonnet was made in hand-dyed very fine pure wool (dyed by Louise) and lined in pure silk habutai with cotton lace. She used our ribbon for the bonnet ties.

Louise also used the 7mm silk ribbon for the mock slashing on the false sleeves of her miniature (5.5 inches tall) Tudor ladies, picture is of the young Elizabeth 1st.

Thank you for sharing your work with us Louise, it is so fine.

Another talented lady is Beryl, she has sent a most wonderful Beach collection of cards for our Ribbon Challenge - Fun in the Sun.

As I opened the envelope from Beryl, only one item came out, oh that's unusual I thought, Beryl normally sends me such wonderful crafty treats. But this folder held an Aladins cave of delights.  I had photographed the back which read sand but sadly it was one of the photos that became corrupted after my SD card recovery. Sorry Beryl.

When I opened the folder I was greeted with this....... an awesome collection of cards.  This would be perfect to take on holiday with you, and send to family and friends, the cards are wicked.  On the left we have a collection of sand cards and on the right a collection of sea cards, all using our Fun in the Sun Ribbons (can be found HERE)

What a colourful fun card, the colours are just perfect. If I told you that the crab ribbon (HERE) is the best selling ribbon from the Fun in the Sun collection, I am sure you would not believe me, we thought the flip flops (HERE) would be the star!

Same ribbons, same colours, I love the glossy accent on the little girls glasses, great idea.

These three sand cards have all used the same ribbon but in different ways, it just goes to show what you can do with ribbon, they are all perfect.

Now onto the sea - Beryl has chosen two blue ribbons to embellish this collection, blue stripe always shouts Nautical.  This little girl is enjoying her seaside chips! The ribboned tag can be removed and reads "Hot Summer Days", it was hot when I took the photo, but it is raining today. The little paper clip detail in the corner is quite unique Beryl.

Cheeky monkey - this card is so simple but perfect, I love it.

The fish and shell detail at the bottom of the card is ribbon (HERE), I promise, the way Beryl has backed it with white card has really made the images stand out.

Beryl this collection is a work of art, thank you so much for creating it for us.  We hope others will be able to create their own projects from it using some of your inspiration.

Butterflies and Strawberries

clock June 22, 2010 11:00 by author Crafty Ribbons

Ummm! Butterflies and Strawberries that makes you think of summer, or at least warm days.

Noreen was one of our Friday FREEBIE butterfly ribbon winners and she has kindly sent in some cards to show us what she has made with the ribbons.  She must have loved the ribbons, they only arrived with her on Saturday and these cards were e-mailed through to me on Sunday, quick work Noreen! I think the cards are wonderful - do you want to see them?

This lime ribbon is just so "in" at the moment and teams up beautifully with this crushed pink.

I think it is wicked the way you card makers use the same layout and change the colours. Looks stunning Noreen, so pleased you liked the Friday FREEBIE ribbons. If you want some of these butterfly ribbons you can find them all HERE. We are already sold out of two designs!

You have seen the Butterflies, what about the Strawberries, well it is Wimbledon this week, so bring out the Strawberries and Cream Gail.

Wooo hoo that looks fantastic Gail.  This Strawberry ribbon has been out of stock for a while, but it is back in and can be found HERE.  Gail has sent this photo to the Cross Stitch Magazine where the chart came from, they have said her card will be going into next months copy.  Keep us informed Gail and we will buy a copy.

If you have any cards or projects that you have used our ribbon on and would like to share with us, please email a photo to craftyribbons@gmail.com We all love to see other peoples work and we must continue to spread the word about how WONDERFUL RIBBON IS!!

Sometimes you only need small lengths of ribbon, just for a little knot tie or a bow.  Our scrap bags are perfect for this (HERE), these bags are mixed with all types of ribbons, from Sheer to Christmas, 5mm to 60mm! BUT what if you only want 3mm satins?

Well ....it has taken us a long time to build up the stock of scrap ribbons for these NEW 3mm Satin Scrap bags!! You can find them HERE and they are only £1.00  Please REMEMBER they are SCRAP, the lengths can vary from 1cm through to 40-50cms.  We weighed a bag just to give us an idea of meterage, if you were to put all the ribbons together end to end you would have approx 120 mtrs for £1.00 That's another Crafty Ribbons BARGAIN!!!

Don't forget our little bit of sunshine offer - place an order today Tuesday 22nd or Wednesday 23rd and by typing    longest day     into the special voucher box during the check out process and we will give you a 15% discount off your order.  And there is more, if you know the answer to the FREE POSTAGE question you can go back into the special voucher box and enter it and you will get FREE POSTAGE as well.

Have a super day

Blooming Lovely

clock April 27, 2009 16:13 by author Crafty Ribbons

I have only been out of the office for a few days at the Creative Craft Show, but I have missed loads!  By the time we traveled home each evening, I was too tired to turn my computer on - sorry.

You have all been so busy, the sneak peeks I have seen of the "Muddy paws" challenge are awesome.  You have also joined in with the Sunday Sketch and Stamp Challenge - Did you like the prize?  I said it was a real goodie, six Ribbonboxes filled with almost 150mtrs of ribbon.

Look what Tina has made, they are Blooming lovely!

These flowers are stunning - I love them.  They are made using 7mm satin ribbons, you can find these in our Satin Streamers

So glad you liked the ribbon Tina.

Where has the sun gone? I have two weeks without exhibitions and was hoping to spend some time in the garden - looks like I will have to go to my play room. I bought some goodies at the show that I am dying to try out. Hard life!!

Chocolate!

clock April 12, 2009 16:40 by author Crafty Ribbons

Easter is not a good time, if you are a self confessed Chocoholic.  I have eaten so much chocolate in the past, that 5 years ago I became allergic to it - it makes me very ill, boo hoo.  Thankfully, I can now be around other chocoholics without being tempted, and can even buy it for others!  But what are you given at Easter........ nothing - not one prezzie.  I have been sulking in my play room all day Frown

Marjorie sent a couple of cards to us last week, and they use our ribbons!  Thank you Marjorie, they are fantastic, I love the Chocolate one.

Natalie decided to decorate the box that her challenge ribbons arrived in.  She has entered it into this weeks challenge at PBSC, which is to make a Gift.  Good luck Natalie, it is stunning.

"Spring Time" ribbons are now on the website, (I know I am somewhat bias, BUT I do think these ribbons are stunning and so fresh).  The balance of the ribbon challenge cards were waiting for me when I got back from France, so all cards will be posted tomorrow.  The cards are gorgeous and I am excited that they will all go on display in Belfast next week.

These "Spring Time" ribbons are such great value. They start from 45p per mtr for a 10mtr roll, or if you only want a couple of mtrs - 2mtrs for £1 A Spring Time Bargain!!

Enjoy the rest of today, oh and your chocolates....

Busy day

clock March 14, 2009 19:50 by author Crafty Ribbons

We have had a very busy day at the show.  Lots of customers popping on the stand to say hello. Denise Farrar even arrived with a prezzie for us!  I had spoken to her during the week and she had ordered some of our new "Love Chocolate" ribbons.  She mentioned she had a wonderful CD full of chocolates and the ribbon would be perfect to go with it.

The chocolates go all the way round!!

Thanks Denise, this card is really good enough to eat!

Not only do I love chocolate but I also have a thing for shoes.  During my tour of the show I came across these gorgeous shoes, not sure how comfortable they would be for standing up all day at the show!!

Maybe these little slippers would be better.

These shoes and slippers are part of a display of recycled items in the "Sewing for Pleasure" hall.  They have been made from broken china plates.  What a great idea.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Cards by Marjorie

clock March 10, 2009 09:26 by author Crafty Ribbons

Marjorie has been busy using our ribbons on her cards, and sent us these pics.  She is new to card crafting and joins in on our ribbon challenges.

This card was made for her friend who loves Tigers - what fantastic colours, and the ribbon looks great too! Wild Ribbons can be found HERE

This second card was made from a scrap of Laura Ashley fabric.  When Marjorie was first given the fabric she thought it was too small to do anything with.  But like all good crafters she stashed it away!!

This has worked really well, the idea would also work for a Mothers Day Card.  Ribbons are from the "Love Chocolate" Collection HERE

Thank you for sharing these with us Marjorie they are fantastic, and please thank your son for showing you how to send them!

Ali has come back from Glasgow with a cold, and is feeling rather under the weather - arrgh!! We promise to be kind to you today Ali and make you lots of cups of tea.

Milkshake!

clock January 29, 2009 17:45 by author Crafty Ribbons

Thought we would share this with you, Bev brought this in this morning to show us.  She made it to send off to "Milkshake" TV for her son Sam, also known as Cookie Monster in the office!!.  She used a black and white check ribbon around the outside of the picture, which toned in well with the Rory theme.  (Sorry we have sold out of this ribbon, it was in the Black & White Pack in the January Pack Sale).  Good luck Bev, we will keep our fingers crossed that it is shown on TV.

You have all loved our January Pack Sale, we have despatched thousands of metres of different types and colours of ribbons, this month.

What are you all doing with it?  Go on, email info@craftyribbons.com some pictures of your creations, we would love to see what you have been up to and to put them on the blog.
