Delayed Friday Freebie winners are.......

clock May 15, 2012 08:57 by author Crafty Ribbons

Apologies for not posting the winners details yesterday, life just got in the way of blogging!

Sydney picked the winners for me, she came home from school bursting with energy wanting to make a pair of bat wings! You can not see them very well in the photo but they are there, hence the card ringlets around her waist.

Number 3 = WendY
Sun is shining here too - hope it lasts.   Just love these vintage ribbons. Thanks for the chance to win some - if not, will be spending my pennies soon.   WendY x

Number 27 = Rosalee
Lovely bag and beautiful collection. I would love to have a chance.
Hugs, Rosalee

Oooh WendY you have been lucky lately, maybe you should buy a lottery ticket this week!  Congratulations WendY and Rosalee you both have a Bev's Bag to delve into........all we need are addresses please to craftyribbons@gmail.com

Todays Challenge goodies are from Dorothy, I think Dorothy has joined us on every challenge and she always makes oodles of super creations.  Plenty of inspiration to share.

First creation is this charming little baby crib, decorated with our baby washing line ribbon, the baby inside has matching blankets.

The crib arrived on it's own carrier, a work of art in itself Dorothy.

Dorothy has made me several of these book style cards for different challenges, they are always charming  and packed with exquisite decoration.  I love the little doylies Dorothy.

Oooh you do like testing my photography skills Dorothy, this reflective card is always a challenge for me. A beautiful colour, it is like an iris irridescent depending on the light.

This card is delightful Dorothy, I love the rocker you have created, and the way you have carefully cut out the little clothes from the ribbon.

What a treasure chest of a card, everytime I look at this card Dorothy I see something different, very clever.

Not sure what the correct name is for this type of card (someone please tell me), it is like a decoupage window.  I love the way you have matched the bears bows with her hat, very classy.

Thank you Dorothy for all your delightful creations, I always enjoy opening your challenge parcels, just like a pandoras box!  I know it is a while since you crafted with these ribbons, but I do hope you enjoyed them.

I hope you all have a crafty day.

Last few touches

clock April 24, 2012 10:47 by author Crafty Ribbons

I have spent the morning putting the last few touches to a NEW range of ribbons................oooh I wish I could share my excitement with you.................BUT not just yet.  You will have to wait a little while, BUT they will be well worth waiting for though, nobody and I do mean NOBODY has anything like my new babies!!!!

We do have lots of other exciting things going on, Mandy who runs the challenge blog for us has been a real busy bee and we have a massive event planned soooooon............ sorry it is going to be one of those days that I tempt you.

We had a wonderful comment (all comments are wonderful I will add!) left last night by Anne-Marie the winner of our Friday FREEBIE last week for a copy of our NEW DVD........

Thank you Anne-Marie, sorry for our little error!  Tony and I had sneaked away for a few days, Rachie was so eager to keep the warehouse running smoothly she sent Anne-Marie's DVD to her the next day but forgot to add the ribbon!!!

If you would like another chance to win our NEW DVD then we have a prize running on Facebook this week, the draw will take place on Friday.  Just like the DVD post here to join in.

We are nearly at the end of our baby washing line challenge, PHEW it has been a long one, the last parcel arrived back last week.  Todays crafty creations are from Angela.

Angela this is a delightful, I love the way you have woven the ribbons over and under the main ribbons.  A very clever technique, eveytime I look at this ribbon in the warehouse it makes me smile.

SUPER Cute Angela, I am so pleased that the washing line design has been used as WASHING! I adore the way you have highlighted the text ribbon with extra buttons Angela.  I think these 3mm grosgrains make a change from the satin ribbon, I have been thinking of having more colours made for us - what do you think?  Did or do you enjoy working with the 3mm grosgrain?  Should we add more colours?

Ooooh any little girl would love to have this hanging in their bedroom Angela, it is delightful.  It could also be used to attach hair bow grips and things too, would keep them nice and tidy.

Did you make the little girls Angela?  Looks like ribbon and cord on a flat wooden button, great fun.

Thank you Angela for joining in with the Challenge, i am so sorry it has taken so long to share your creations.  If I am correct I have only 3 other challenger collections to share, Leigh, Dorothy and Amanda.  Please do not shout at me if I have forgotten anyone, just send me an email craftyribbons@gmail.com and i will search my Flash card.

No rain today, first time since January I had to drive to work yesterday - it was pouring down.  I normally start to negotiate a lift home from one of the girls late afternoon, I even make tea if I am desperate for a lift.  But Bev said she would run me home, it was only when we both opened the office door to go home................"Durrrrrr I have my car Bev!"

Washing creations from around the world

clock April 17, 2012 10:00 by author Crafty Ribbons

We had a very international response to our baby washing challenge.  Todays challengers are from France, England, Sweden and America.

The first two photos are from Caroline in France.

Caroline choose the pink selection of ribbons, she made this for her friend who is having twins.

Great cross stitch Caroline, I hope your friend likes it.

Jans choice of ribbons were pink, I think this is a super layout Jan it shows the ribbons off beautifully.

This lime card Jans is divine.  The colour match is super and fresh.

Just as it says on the ribbon CUTE.  Great image Charlotta and just a hint of ribbon to pull the design together, perfect.

WOW you are talented Charlotta, this is an easel style card.  Not been brave enough to make one of these yet!  I love the way you have used buttons and ribbon to enhance the bunting, great fun.

Another easel card from Charlotta, great colour combo and super creations from Sweden.

Christinas creations suffered the journey all the way from America, undamaged I will add.  Hello cute - how cool is that. As for the stitching to spell Drew (bet you missed that detail) wicked idea Christina.

WOW this has taken you some time Christina, it is awesome, so much detail. Wicked creation.

This was a little note that Christina sent me, but I had to share with you all.  Am I correct Christina that the blue and white is fabric?  Fab idea if it is, gives the card such a baby feel!

Thank you girls for joining in with our challenge, I hope you all had fun playing with the ribbons.  I am pleased to say these ribbons are very popular on the website, just what we had hoped for.

Have a great day, what ever you are up too!

DVD winner is......

clock April 16, 2012 15:00 by author Crafty Ribbons

Before I tell you who has been pulled from our "Bingo" bag,  I have a wonderful selection of creations to share with you from Leslie and Linda.  Both girls chose the blue ribbons.

A very elegent card Leslie, I love the way you are pulled into the centre of the card.

Super cute with the little trousers in the centre Leslie, very clever.

Oooooh fantastic Linda, this bunting is really special.  Not sure my knitted triangles would all end up the same size.  My scarfs always had one end wider then the other!!  Brilliant idea Linda.

You really are testing my camera skills here Linda, another wicked idea.  What did you use to create the top circle?

Thank you Linda and Leslie for your delightful goodies, some super inspiration for us all.  And a big thank you to everyone that left a comment for us this weekend, but as always there can only be one winner.........

Sydney picked todays winner, although I pounced on her just as she put a big chewy sweet into her month! Poor thing, having an auntie like me!!

Number 26 =Anne-Marie Lewis

Ooooo....looks lovely! thanks for the chance...fingers crossed!

Well done you have a copy of our NEW DVD and a super selection of ribbons that I used on the projects.  Please email us on rachie.craftyribbons@gmail to claim your prize.

Friday Freebie - DVD and Ribbons

clock April 13, 2012 10:00 by author Crafty Ribbons

Morning everyone, how are you all?

With all the buzz we have created with the launch of our DVD there could only be one prize for this weeks Friday FREEBIE!

I have to tell you a little story about these tulips........Do you remember Tony and I went to Holland last year for a little holiday.  I took so many pictures (as you do) and I decided later in the year to turn our downstairs cloakroom into a photo gallery.

I got some wonderful black square picture frames and selected the best of the photos to put in them.  They go all the way around the room.  It is the first thing you notice when you walk in, everyone seems to take much longer in that room!!  But I wanted some tulips to go in the window.  I am not a fan of silk flowers, so thought I would find some really nice tulips.  Well I looked for weeks, I had Bev searching the internet (Bev is the queen of internet shopping!) but even she could find nothing.

So I gave up, but my window looked so plain.  I must have been doing a bit of moaning to Tony one eveing because he simple said "Make some".    Ummmmmmmmm..............so I did, and now you can too.

Included with the DVD we will also give a selection of the ribbons used in the projects featured.  So you too can make your own tulips.......they really are very simple, and the best bit about the DVD is you can pause it!!  I like!  So for a chance to win, just leave a comment below, any problems with our spam filter, just send your comment to rachie at rachie.craftyribbons@gmail.com as I will not have internet this weekend.

Hope you are still enjoying all the wonderful creations made for our Baby washing challenge, todays goodies have been made by Karen.  Glad to hear things are busy at work Karen, your shop sounds just the place I would love to visit.

Oooh, oooh where did you get those scrabble tiles.....I want!! Super card Karen.

This is unique Karen, a mini clip frame for the grandchildren.  I would agree with your sentiment Karen, Monkey world was a pleasure last week! I love the way the ribbon leads your eye to the photo, wicked.

I hope you have a super weekend and the weather is kind to us.

I have been struggling with my camera compact flash card all morning, hence the lateness of this posting.  So no more photos for today!

If you are unable to leave a comment due to our spam filters (comment disappears when screen is refreshed), please email it to rachie.craftyribbons@gmail.com
and we will add it for you. All the comments go into our "Bingo" bag and we draw a random number(s) on Monday.
Please check back to see if you have won, it is up to you to claim your prize - we do not contact you.

Our Challenge Blog - Things with wings

clock April 12, 2012 09:00 by author Crafty Ribbons

Thank you to everyone that joined in with our last challenge, hope you all had fun. Two weeks are up so it is time for a NEW Challenge on our Ribbon Challenge blog here.

Maja is hosting this NEW Challenge, she has a love of butterflies so has named her challenge...

Things with Wings

.........and would like us to use butterflies, maybe a fairy or two, angels.......I think you get the idea.  I have been playing around with some NEW Satin Ribbon and this idea just flew into my mind!

Just two lengths of ribbons that I have folded and sewed to make two little bow ties, then joined them together with a stitch.

Here is a close up so you can see the details.  The body is made from beads and wire - I wanted to do a tutorial for you, but my thumb complained about making these two butterflies.  So I did what I have been told to do by the Docs to get my thumb better and STOPPED. It is responding to the new treatment, although I do look a bit like a parcel wrapped up with black tape!

The design girls have come up with some super inspiration again (thanks girls) why not pop over and have a peak HERE, while you are looking around why not join in with us on this new challenge.

This NEW Satin Ribbon is the ribbon I used to make the roses for the Wedding cake on our DVD.  I must admit this wedding cake did look fab. I say that in the past tense as the cake has been eaten.  We gave the bottom tier to Janets craft club to have a slice with their cuppas, the top tier we all had with our morning coffee and the middle tier ummmmmmm a certain person begining with a T has been enjoying it! NOBODY was allowed to touch the cake until we had comfirmation from the videoing team that all was well.

The  Satin Ribbon can be found here, the Rose tutorial is here and the DVD is here. Hope you enjoy them as much as we did the cake!

Challenge goodie time, todays selection of creations are from Sharon.

I do like the simplicity of this card Sharon, perfect colour match with the papers and ribbons.

"Mum to be" how fab is that, I love the softness the sheer ribbon gives this card Sharon.

You do work with some fun images Sharon, fantastic.

Adorable Sharon, such a wicked combo of colours, image and ribbons.

This is such a super idea Sharon.  Two flannels that have been sewn together to make a taggie.

Fantastic work Sharon thank you so much for all your wonderful creations.

That's me done for another day, meet you all back here tomorrow for the Friday FREEBIE!

Weekend of catch up

clock April 10, 2012 03:01 by author Crafty Ribbons

What a busy weekend we had, fantastic chance to catch up on all those jobs that never seem to get done.

Ever since we blew up our mail server up a few weeks back, we have been experiencing problems.  Some of our wonderful followers have not been receiving emails, they have been bouncing back to us - telling us the email no longer existed.  So over the weekend our IT guys have been moving all of our followers and customers details onto a new system.  It is really quiet exsiting for us, although I am having to learn new software which I hate.

Anyway, did you see our NEW DVD? There are some super projects on there 12 in total, and yes the Tulips on the front cover are made from ribbon!!  We had planned to only shoot 11 projects, but I wore my button necklaces in all the videos (yes you do get to see me, I even do an intro on the DVD) that we decided to show you how to make the necklace.  Do you want to watch it?  If so click the little triangle in the centre of the screen.

What do you think? It has a long way to go to catch up with our Ribbon Carnation video, that has had over 344,000  views on YouTube. Rock on Tommy!! Thanks everyone.

All 12 videos can be downloaded straight from our site HERE, so you do not have to wait for Mr Postie and you can just download the ones that are your "thing". As you can imagine we get asked lots of question on "How to" with ribbon especially at the exhibitions, so this is how the DVD came about.

"How do you tie a bow" is the most asked question - simple if you know, if not then this clip is for you! Bows are here.

Thanks to everyone that left super comments on the blog and also Facebook, it was great to read them all.  So who has won the £25 Friday FREEBIE (Please check Facebook if you liked our page to see if you won there)

Sam did the honours for me today, with that cheeky smile of his!! He picked number..................

Number 45 = Julie Swann
What a fab bunch of ribbons and a perfect way to celebrate spring, Easter and my 50th birthday which was this weekend.  Hope you all have a fab Easter break. xx

Somebody was looking down on you this weekend Julie, you have £25 to spend on our website, any ideas what you will buy?  Please send me an email to craftyribbons@gmail.com to claim your voucher.

What with the email problem and launching the DVD I am rather behind on sharing all the wonderful creations from the challenge.  So sorry for the delay this is a little taster to jog your memories...

Andrea made this delightful Tattie teddy card - adorable Andrea thank you.

More creations tomorrow, I promise.

My Princess and My Prince

clock March 27, 2012 10:20 by author Crafty Ribbons

Look what we have added to our Best of British Collection....................

Princess and Prince ribbons with little crowns - we think they are rather special and you can find them HERE.

Struggle to find a way of keeping all your ribbons together.  Always takes ages to find the ribbon you are after?  What ever you do with your ribbons they always seem to get knotted up?  Then Mandy may have solved your problem.....................

She has attached ALL her ribbons to washing racks!!!  She folds them up to store them and just unfolds when she needs a ribbon.  I think this is a WICKED idea, thanks for sharing it Mandy.

....................now how many washing racks do I need to buy!

More super challenge creations from Claire and Lucy today.

Claire has made this delightful bag and matching framed feet.

I have no idea how Claire made this frame, but it is just adorable.  I do love the lime juice ribbon in this Baby collection.

Lucy you have put a lot of time into this heart, I am sure any mum would be delighted to receive this little gift.

Your crazy patchwork design Lucy is wacky and fun, it can never be the wrong way up!!  We had your cushions hanging on the back wall of our exhibition stands Lucy, they created quite a stir with comments and questions.  I kept being asked if you had scented them, but each time I took them down or put them up I forgot to smell them!!!  Did you scent them Lucy?

Wonderful creations Claire and Lucy, the scope of creations we have seen on this challenge has been vast, just what we like to see.

Another bright and sunny day here in Dorset, I must leave my computer.....................I hear my camera calling me.
