Last of the Love Chocolate

clock February 26, 2009 17:33 by author Crafty Ribbons

The last of the Love Chocolate cards arrived today from Tina, they are sensational.  All the cards we received for this Ribbon Challenge # 2 have been stunning.  Thank you all so much

Tina was not happy with the flower card (Bev loved it- I will have to keep my eye on Bev!), Tina's favourite card was the chocolate bar.  I think the Pink Chocoholics Anonymous card would be perfect for my little neice Sydney.

We send the ribbon for the challenges out in white boxes, so the ribbons do not get squashed in the post ( similar to our Ribbonboxes).  Look what Beryl has done with hers from the Love Chocolate challenge!

Beryl thought she should keep chocolates in it for when she was crafting - great idea!!!

More Love Chocolate Cards

clock February 24, 2009 17:00 by author Crafty Ribbons

I was rather rushed the day I posted the Love Chocolate Cards and I ran out of time - sorry.  But here are a few more for you to enjoy.

The cards above are made by my great friend Leigh.  I always send her the bits that are left over!!  I do not think that she knows what a metre of ribbon looks like.  Anyway it goes to show what you can make from  a "little bit" of ribbon!!!  She will be pleased when she receives her post tomorrow - I sent her a full (yes, metre lengths) box of ribbons for the "Cupcake Galore" challenge # 3 - just like everyone else

Trisha sent in 3 fantastic cards for the challenge but I only had time to put 2 on the site.  This is her third one and it's wicked.  I got asked at the Make it show, the name of this little girl.  Can anyone help me out?

Must go, we are going to Rachie's for pancakes!!! (Bet I will end up cooking them!)

Ribbon Challenge # 3 is FULL

clock February 24, 2009 09:35 by author Crafty Ribbons

Our Ribbon Challenge # 3 is full.

Wow you all love your cupcakes!! We must admit that this ribbon is fab.  Ali found the cupcake ribbon on a hair slide in a french market last summer.  She wanted the ribbon!!  It took her 6 months to trace the manufacturer - we think it was worth it, hope you do.

Sorry if you missed out on this challenge but we have another one coming up soon, so check back regularly.

Ribbon Challenge # 3

clock February 22, 2009 07:55 by author Crafty Ribbons

SORRY - THIS CHALLENGE IS NOW FULL!

Cupcakes are a very "in thing" at the moment, so we are sure you will enjoy this new challenge - Cupcakes Galore

Would you like to take part in our Ribbon Challenge # 3?

Be the first to see our NEW range of cupcake ribbons.  We have 10 free bundles of ribbons to give away (5 Vanilla and 5 Chocolate), each bundle will contain lengths of all the new ribbons (NOT on the website - yet!).  All we ask in return for these ribbons are two cards made from this delicious ribbon! The ribbons can be used to enhance all forms of card making, rubber stamping to decoupage as long as it is around the "Cupcake Galore" theme!!!!

Not into cardmaking, but would love to use the ribbons on another form of craft - no problem just give us an idea in your email.

If you are up to the challenge, then send us an email to info@craftyribbons.com marked RIBBON CHALLENGE #3!

The first 10 to reply will be sent an email requesting address details so we can send your free ribbons!!

Your cards will be posted onto our website and will also be on display at the exhibitions we attend in the UK and France 2009

Make It for Mum

The Make It organisers  held  a card challenge for the show called "Make it for Mum".  I can see the display from our stand and thought you might like to have a look, I could not get up close as it was all roped off.  I was pleased to see that several of the cards used ribbon!!!

Mix up at Make it

clock February 20, 2009 19:52 by author Crafty Ribbons

We had a little mix up with the opening times this morning at the Make It show.  We were so delighted that the show opened at 10am rather then 9 as it did last week in Paris, that we left a few jobs to finish off on the stand tihs morning.

The cards from the "Love Chocolate" challenge had to be strung across the front of the stand, all the signs had to be placed on the ribbon cabinets, plenty of time until they announced that the show was open!!!  We (Tony!) had forgotten that disabled customers are allowed into the show from 9.30!!!  OH NO - coats on the floor, step ladders still out, night sheets all scattered across the stand, quick, quick put everything away.

It was only after lunch that I noticed that there were still a few french signs lurking on the stands!!  Never mind - we normally have two stands, one for the French shows and one for the English shows and never do they mix.  But sadly some of our exhibition cabinets got pushed over during the burglary and so badly damaged that they were unusable, so hence we now have a Franglais stand!!

Your "Love Chocolate" cards were greatly admired today, with lots of wonderful comments.  What everyone enjoys most is the fact you can make so many different styles with the same ribbon.

If you come to the show, do not forget to pop along and say "Hi!"

Wicked day

clock February 14, 2009 21:21 by author Crafty Ribbons

What a wicked day we have had at L'aiguille en fête, it has been filled with fun and excitement.  I love teaching the magic of ribbon embroidery, a couple of twists of ribbon and you have a flower.  We have been demonstrating a new stitch this week that make a gorgeous rose.  Tony took over the demo table today, and was embroidering red roses, which went down a storm as it is valentines day!!!

I had a chance to have a wonder this evening... the displays are just wonderful.

I got told off today by two senior french ladies - for adding up in english!!!!!

Valentines in Paris

clock February 14, 2009 07:10 by author Crafty Ribbons

Your Valentine cards from the Ribbon Challenge # 1 were in great demand yesterday.  Desperate husbands of English exhibitors here in Paris, tried all day to buy or steal your cards to get them out of trouble!  You can not buy a Valentine card anywhere (I have tried - oops)!!!!

I gave in when Walter (if you attend the English shows, you will know Walter sells thread) came begging.  I gave him one of Leighs cards, she always writes on the back of her card "Do not remove from Crafty Ribbons Stand".  He thought this was very funny!!!!!!

Have a great day.
