Friday FREEBIE

clock October 30, 2009 07:56 by author Crafty Ribbons

Oh I love Friday’s and today is even better as I got to pick this weeks Friday FREEBIE!

I have the entire warehouse to choose from, and as Ali is in Dublin and not able to connect to the internet, I can pick whatever I want!!!

If you are a follower of the blog then you will have worked out that I am a dot fan – polka dot, swiss dot any dot. You will always find a few in my Bev’s bags! So, as we added two NEW colours to the Grosgrain Swiss Dot range this week, I thought about a WANT IT ALL Swiss Dots.  But we will have to keep it a bit of a secret from Ali, when she launched the Swiss Dot range, she wanted to do a WANT IT ALL pack but I was not happy about it as there are 47 colours in the range, and that is a lot of 1mtr cuts! So this weeks Friday FREEBIE prize you cannot buy!!

So if you too are a little bit dotty and love your Swiss dots, leave a comment to get a chance to win this weeks Friday FREEBIE of 47mtrs of swiss Dots WANT IT ALL.  We will pick the lucky winner on Monday afternoon from our “Bingo” bag – you have to be in it, for a chance of winning it, so get those comments rolling.

Have a dotty weekend.

Black and White

Ali and Tony have arrived in Dublin safely, we gather the crossing was not too great – poor Ali!

It was a long set up for them today, although we all helped to re-stock the stand in the warehouse on Monday, we ran out of time to help with the pricing.  Everything has to be changed to Euros, next Monday we will change them back to pounds for Hobbycrafts at the NEC, and the following Monday will re-price them again into Euros for Paris.....Crazy!!!! The ribbons are easy, most of them are dual priced but all the buttons ARRGH!

I helped Ali 2 years ago and I remember how tired I was, although I do wish I was in Dublin with them, it is a wonderful show.

We have added two NEW colours to our Grosgrain Swiss Dot range.  Classic Black with white dots and White with black dots. Ali tells us they are NEW colours but we believe that she forgot to photograph them.

Hope a good evening

Rachie

Late Winners

clock October 26, 2009 17:33 by author Crafty Ribbons

What a busy day, it should have been a nice quiet day, as Tony and I made our way from Glasgow to Hollyhead for our boat crossing to Dublin.  But no, we had a mad drive through the night, back to Dorset arriving at some awful hour to be in the office today. Why you ask.... ummm to restock our stand.  Although we had taken plenty of extra stock to Glasgow to cover the two shows, we sold out of so much that we changed our plans saturday evening.

Sydney is on half team this week and didn't come to see me today, we decided not to tell her I was back!  So Mollie did the honours for this weeks Friday FREEBIE draw.

Not sure she knew what to do!

But she picked two numbers for us, the lucky winners of Friday FREEBIE are....

16 = Sue D

26 = Amehdiyeh

Well done girls, you will certainly will have a lot of bling in your craft rooms.  Please can you email us at info@craftyribbons.com with your address details, please let us know your thoughts on winning!!

Tony and I are leaving the office now, on our way to Hollyhead staying over night in Kidderminster en route.  he is rushing me as the restaurant shuts at 9.30pm and he wants food!!!!

Back to this weeks Friday FREEBIE - it has to be BLING, I have talked of nothing else all week.

You can win a WANT IT ALL 10mm Velvet pack, and a WANT IT ALL 6mm Satin pack and a WANT IT ALL 3mm Metallic Edge Satin Pack WOW!! That's 60 mtrs of BLING, can a girl cope with that much bling?? As Sydney likes picking two winners on a Monday there will be TWO BLING WANT IT ALL COLLECTIONS on offer this week, so two lucky winners.

So get those comments rolling, we love reading them they make us smile!

More goodies

clock October 22, 2009 20:25 by author Crafty Ribbons

Thank you for your kind words over last nights blunders!  We had a very busy day on the stand today and it was really great to catch up with lots of you, although it is very spooky being asked if I am feeling better, how did they know I had a cold??? I can be a bit durrrr at times!

Well here goes with the second batch of goodies from our ribbon challenge 9, fingers crossed I make no boobs!

Natalie has come up with a wonderful colour combo - pink and silver, yummy.

Natalie also shows us, BLING can also be subtle!

This is a cutie, Natalie.

This is very hip, was it a Tracey or Paul creation? Hope you are better Tracey and looking forward to meeting you both at the NEC.

Oh I do love this colour Tracey and Paul - cool fresh and crisp, looks like this bling ribbon can be used on lots of different types and styles of cards.

Wilma I love this card, the side ribbons look like piono keys! Very stylish. Wilma is also the creator of the Bling Snowman card that I got confused over with yesterday evening.

Wow Iris Folding, I couldn't get enough of this, and with ribbon it is soooo easy.  Wilma this card is pure magic!

What little girl could not resist this Wilma.  I made a big mistake though - I showed it to Syd, and she could not understand why she could not take it home!!!! Uhmmm Auntie Ali needs to take it to an exhibition "BUT it's Sydneys".

I confess to a bit of bribery - Winnie can have a NEW ballet outfit, if I can keep Sydneys Room hanger.

I am not proud, but it did work!!! So here is Winnie in "His" new Bling outfit!!!

I still have more goodies to share with, so please check back tomorrow, oh and don't forget the Friday FREEBIE tomorrow!

Oops!

clock October 22, 2009 07:25 by author Crafty Ribbons

Oops sorry I seemed to have got some of my facts wrong last night.  Working from memory when tired is not a good idea!  I took the photos on Sunday afternoon, but the cards and projects were on the exhibtion stand - so I could not refer to them.

Sorry to Liz who is not called Lynne. It was Liz's first challenge, please forgive me and do join in with the next challenge.

The lovely bling snowman card was not made by Beryl.

Beryl thinks it was made by her friend Wilma, BUT I will not confirm this!!!

I had planned a second installment tonight, we will have to wait and see how tired I am!!!  Will take my note pad on the stand today to make notes - that might help, as the little grey cells are obviously still affected by my cold.

Tracey we have your cards, well I think they are yours!!!!!!!

Ribbon Challenge # 9

clock October 21, 2009 21:02 by author Crafty Ribbons

Tony and I made it to Glasgow! We had a lovely evening in Cumbria en route, waking up overlooking the dales, with some very long hairy cows in the field below our window. We only got caught up in traffic once, while trying to join the M6 in Birmingham. The setting up of the exhibition stand went extremly quickly, all thanks to our great team of girls back home.

Anyway back to my main reason for this posting - first part of our Bling Challenge, and Oh you did love the NEW ribbons!

Beryl's card says it all - Bling! Bling!  Those colours are just so gorgeous, you must come and have a look at them Stand E18 Hobbycrafts SECC Glasgow.

Beryl has changed the words of the rainbow song, instead of sing it reads bling!!!

We love the bling snowman scarf. (I thought this card was made by Beryl, but Beryl thinks it was made by her friend Wilma - Wilma HELP!!!)

This is a delightful verse that is inside the snowman card, I hope you can all read it.

Such a classy card Beryl.

Beryl's last card is very elegant and quite a stunner!

Dorothy also enjoyed our bling ribbons.

This is the inside of her charming card.

Dorothy wanted to try some new techniques with this challenge.  To make the ribbons curl as on her box, wrap the ribbons around a dowel and hold in place with pegs, mist with water and then place in the oven on the lowest setting until ribbons are dry.  Slip ribbons off the dowel and you have wonderful curls. Magic!!

This hair slide has been created by braiding the ribbons, what fun Dorothy. and it came in it's own little box.

Dorothy's last challenge goodie is a matching Hair band, Sydney had her eye on this little gem!!

Jan you had me fooled with this card only for a little while mind!!

It reads "HO HO HO"......

Jan has trimmed her cracker with the bling ribbons, love the cracker Jan but had a sneak peak inside and it was empty!!!!

Isn't this tag amazing and it comes with its own wallet, trimmed with bling.

I have an idea what the wallets are made from Jan but think you need to confirm it first!!

This is Liz's first challenge, no worries Liz all your creations are fantastic - we love them.

Look at those colours, just shouts BLING!

Liz's last card is rather spooky!

That's me done for this evening, I still have lots of goodies to share with you, but I need my sleep as we hope to be busy tomorrow.

Nite, nite.

3mm Metallic Edge

clock October 19, 2009 18:47 by author Crafty Ribbons

A little bit more Bling!

3mm metallic edge satin in a range of 20 scrumptious colours - so if you only want a little bit of Bling then this could be for you.  There are 6 colours with a Silver edge and the balance has gold edges.  You can see all the colours HERE.

We are all packed and ready to leave for Glasgow Hobbycrafts tomorrow - we know the show does not open until Thursday but it takes us such a looooong time to get up there.  Don't forget we are on the south coast (it's much warmer here!), and everywhere seems to be miles away.  We have lots of goodies and ribbons for you to see, as I have said before we do not charge for stroking!!!  Please do pop along to the stand and say "Hi" we would love to put a face to a voice or a name!

I have photographed all the Bling challenge goodies that have arrived to date, so will post them on the blog some time this week - they are wicked!
