Saturday morning and where are do you think Tony and I are?  Having a lie in, Christmas shopping, getting ready to go out to lunch.... nope, none of those.  Sat in the warehouse waiting for a plumber.  Rachie broke our toilet yesterday morning, well it actual broke on her (we think it had been going for a while).  We called an emergency plumber, "help we have no loo", no problem we can come and fix it tomorrow - that's a whole day without a loo, rather inconvenient!!!!

Anyway it gives me a chance to show you what I have been working on the last few evenings.  Doing all the shows got me out of the habit of "doing things" in the evening, so the Christmas Ribbon Countdown has kicked me back into action!  I come into work in the morning and show the girls my projects and all I hear is, "Oh I would like one of those", "Aliiiiiiiiii, please make me some"!  Why is it that my name grows extra i's when somebody wants me to do something.

 

I was inspired by Carols card that she made for challenge # 10

I just loved the colour combo.  The stocking started out for our granddaughter Nia, who we are seeing today, but I think it is rather "grown up" for her..... I may have to make another one for her, and find someone derserving for this one - me, me, me!  Back to the stocking, felt and ribbon and a little bit of time - that easy.

I sewed the ribbon in strips down a piece of felt, using large stitches so they would stand out, no problem doing this while watching telly.  Cut a stocking shape from two pieces of felt, and sew together using blanket stitch, I used 6 stands of thread, so the stiching would be part of the design - simple.

Linda made this stocking from the ribbons we sent for Challenge # 10, she has woven the ribbons together to make the front of the stocking - amazing.

I made the Baby's first Christmas stockings last year (you may have seen them on our exhibition stands), the Snowman and gingerbread man (below) are both ribbons.  I ironed the ribbons onto some bondaweb, cut them out and then ironed the shapes onto the stockings.

Fingers crossed the plumber will not be much longer! I am really pleased to read that you are trying some of the projects.  Enjoy.
