Our Challenge Blog - Things with wings

Thank you to everyone that joined in with our last challenge, hope you all had fun. Two weeks are up so it is time for a NEW Challenge on our Ribbon Challenge blog here.

Maja is hosting this NEW Challenge, she has a love of butterflies so has named her challenge...

Things with Wings

.........and would like us to use butterflies, maybe a fairy or two, angels.......I think you get the idea.  I have been playing around with some NEW Satin Ribbon and this idea just flew into my mind!

Just two lengths of ribbons that I have folded and sewed to make two little bow ties, then joined them together with a stitch.

Here is a close up so you can see the details.  The body is made from beads and wire - I wanted to do a tutorial for you, but my thumb complained about making these two butterflies.  So I did what I have been told to do by the Docs to get my thumb better and STOPPED. It is responding to the new treatment, although I do look a bit like a parcel wrapped up with black tape!

The design girls have come up with some super inspiration again (thanks girls) why not pop over and have a peak HERE, while you are looking around why not join in with us on this new challenge.

This NEW Satin Ribbon is the ribbon I used to make the roses for the Wedding cake on our DVD.  I must admit this wedding cake did look fab. I say that in the past tense as the cake has been eaten.  We gave the bottom tier to Janets craft club to have a slice with their cuppas, the top tier we all had with our morning coffee and the middle tier ummmmmmm a certain person begining with a T has been enjoying it! NOBODY was allowed to touch the cake until we had comfirmation from the videoing team that all was well.

The  Satin Ribbon can be found here, the Rose tutorial is here and the DVD is here. Hope you enjoy them as much as we did the cake!

Challenge goodie time, todays selection of creations are from Sharon.

I do like the simplicity of this card Sharon, perfect colour match with the papers and ribbons.

"Mum to be" how fab is that, I love the softness the sheer ribbon gives this card Sharon.

You do work with some fun images Sharon, fantastic.

Adorable Sharon, such a wicked combo of colours, image and ribbons.
